Welcome to
CSS Music’s Redi-Loops production music
library. We think you will find Redi-Loops not only easy to use, but
a lot of fun.

A reminder to anyone who has used conventional loops before
(meaning short drum loops, guitar licks, bass loops, etc). It is important
that you understand the difference between music creation software
and soundtrack creation software. Music creation software allows
its users to create new tunes which can actually be published.
Redi-Loops, on the other hand, is derived from pre-existing musical
compositions. Redi-Loops is "pre-edited" production music.
And because Redi-Loops is production music, it is licensed the
same way (please see the Redi-Loops Licensing
Agreement).

GETTING STARTED
We have included a Glossary to help you understand the abbreviations
used in the file names. Once you start working with Redi-Loops,
these names will make more sense to you.

We suggest copying your Redi-Loops CD ROMs to your hard drive.
It will speed up your work and let you save as you go along. Redi-Loops
elements are in .wav format.

In your audio editor, look for a menu item that says “Wave
Properties” or “File Properties” or something
similar. See if there is a submenu that says “Loop Info” or “Loop
Splicing” -- anything to do with loops.

Be sure the key matches the key listed in the folder title and
the tempo is approximately what is in the folder’s title.
(Or “No Key” for drums and percussion.)
Be sure that the loop is set for either “loop” or “single
shot”, depending on your needs.
Be sure the tempo matching "stretch method" is set to
a “time scale stretch” or “beat splice” (For
drum tracks).
There may be other properties that you can adjust. Check the owner’s
manual of your editing program for more details.
Depending on the audio or video editor you are using and the way
you normally work, there are a couple ways to create a soundtrack
with Redi-Loops. You may want to build an audio track to edit your
video to. Or in some linear video editing programs you can just
drag and drop the Redi-Loops right under the footage on screen.

Whatever technique, Redi-Loops lets you build your underscore
YOUR way. There are no fast rules with loops. Who says you can’t
start your show with a “Chorus” and insert an “intro” a
minute and half later? And why can’t that section of “groove” be
repeated 8 times?

Just be sure to butt splice your Redi-Loops tightly. (Most programs
we’ve tested pretty much do this automatically but it bears
mentioning.)
